Can't see the wood for the trees :)
Having just returned from an interesting tour with Australian Forest Growers on a pre-conference tour of NSW forests, I wanted to share some of this with you. Starting in Sydney and culminating in Lismore. What a fascinating look at something we see every day.
Words on a page can not do justice to such an eye opening tour, and I thank the forestry group for their enthusiasm throughout the whole trip. We started in the Cumberland Forest at Castle Hill then on to River Downs Mountain Valley Resort in the Monkerai Valley near Stroud, NSW. This was an awesome stopover for our group and highly recommended destination for any travellers.
Day 2 we began in a private forest at Monkerai before continuing our journey through Singleton and on to Tamworth. Highlights of our trip included a timber mill at Kootingal, a great property called 'The Hill' at Kentucky and also a visit to Carbon Farmer Cam Banks.
Dorrigo Forest Park provided us with a fantastic tour which complimented our visits to forest farms in Point Lookout and Ebor Falls. Coffs harbour became the staging point for 2 days of wonderful touring before moving on to a Tea Tree farm at Grafton before our tour came to an end.
Here at Roundabout Tours we look forward to these wonderful opportunities to take groups of like minded people to visit with and soak up the wealth of knowledge that the farmers, in every different category, have and eagerly share with passionate people. Thankyou again for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting you all again.
